Who Is Hemp Bombs?
Hemp Bombs was founded in 2016 and has its HQ in Tampa, Florida. Besides selling CBD products, it has branched out into the delta-8 and delta-9 THC markets. Indeed, the brand has a separate site, hempbombsplus.com, dedicated to selling its intoxicating products.
The brand is part of the Global Widget LLC stable, which has also developed companies such as Mystic Labs, Nature’s Script, and Forever Well. Kevin Collins and Donald Biedrzycki co-founded Global Widget, making them the brains behind Hemp Bombs.
The Hemp Bombs brand has grown significantly and has over 150,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 350+ employees. Moreover, you can find its products in an estimated 20,000 locations across the United States and on the official website.
While Hemp Bombs is keen to become a force in the delta-8 and delta-9 THC markets, it remains a highly influential CBD brand. This review analyses three Hemp Bombs CBD products in-depth, provides a quick overview of everything else the brand sells, and highlights other information you need to know before making a purchase.
Hemp Bombs Overall Score
WayofLeaf’s Top 3 Favorite Hemp Bombs Products
As we mentioned earlier, Hemp Bombs is gaining a reputation for selling premium quality delta-8 and delta-9 THC products. However, it is worth remembering that the brand started as a CBD seller and retains an impressive range of products. Our team of testers ran the rule over three of the most popular Hemp Bombs CBD products.
1 – Hemp Bombs CBD Oil Review (1500mg)
One of the features of Hemp Bombs is its nicely designed site. It is extremely easy to find what you need. You can buy Hemp Bombs CBD oil in one of five concentrations:
Furthermore, you can buy it in the following six flavors:
- Acai Berry
- Orange Creamsicle
- Chocolate Mint
- Natural Hemp
The oil consists of CBD extract and terpenes with no additional cannabinoids barring a tiny amount of CBDV.
Our tester tried the Hemp Bombs CBD oil in peppermint flavor and enjoyed the refreshing taste. It offered a reasonable degree of sweetness and didn’t leave an unpleasant aftertaste. This is likely because the brand only includes grape seed oil, MCT oil, and natural flavors. The chocolate mint-flavored CBD oil is the only option with artificial flavors.
With 30ml of liquid, the 1500mg product that our tester tried contains 50mg of CBD per ml, an impressive amount. She consumed half a dropper twice a day and was happy with the level of relaxation the oil offered. In her opinion, there’s no question that the brand uses high-quality hemp and a suitable extraction process.
As for the lab reports, you can find them by clicking on the “Tested by Independent Labs” link in the product overview. The report on the site showed that there was 1,516mg of CBD in the bottle, only 1% higher than claimed. Customers can also scan the QR code of their product or enter the Batch Number on the Hemp Bombs Lab Test page.
The COA is detailed at six pages long and outlines everything you would want to know, including an analysis of pesticides and residual solvents.
What We Loved About This Product
- High CBD concentration
- Nice range of flavors
- Exceptionally low price
What We Didn’t Love
The presence of artificial flavors in the chocolate mint flavor, though most brands do the same for that CBD oil in that particular flavor
Hemp Bombs CBD Gummies Review
We weren’t sure what to make of Hemp Bombs CBD when we first decided to review their max strength CBD gummies. On one hand, their CBD gummies have received great reviews elsewhere on the web. On the other hand, the neon colors and bomb-forward branding is more aggressive than their peer group. Despite the branding giving us an initial pause, we decided to put the 15mg CBD gummies product through its paces.
Taste (10 out of 10)
We rarely give out perfect 10s, but the max strength Hemp Bombs CBD gummies are perfect on this front. The gummies taste exactly like sugar-coated gummy bears from the grocery store. With each gummy only being 15mg, you don’t get the slight hemp aftertaste that many CBD edibles have. Put simply – I was extremely impressed with the taste of this product and would happily buy them again. Only Seabedee Sour Neon Gummies and Green Roads Relax Bears come close.
Delivery (9.5 out of 10)
It really couldn’t be any more convenient to get a dose of CBD. Much like the Green Roads Froggies, I popped one of these CBD gummies first thing in the morning on my way out the door. The main difference between these gummies and the Froggies is the amount of CBD in the Hemp Bombs CBD version and the size – more on that in a minute. If you don’t mind starting off your day with something sweet, then this is a perfect on-the-go product from a delivery standpoint. The only reason we took off half a point is that each gummy is 15mg. So, if you need a higher dose, you may have to take a handful of gummies. Some people won’t mind, but others will.
Potency (6.0 out of 10)
At 15mg per gummy, the Hemp Bombs CBD gummies are more interesting from a dosing standpoint than a potency standpoint. Each gummy (5 to a bag) is 15mg of CBD, which means that the entire bag is 75mg. So, one gummy is not going to knock your socks off. If you need a smaller dose (15mg), then you’ll appreciate not having to eat ¼ of a larger gummy. (kind of gross for the next serving) But, most people will need more than one. On a serving size basis (1), the potency is very middle-of-the-road.
Effect (7.5 out of 10)
We approached rating the “effect” of this product in two different ways. First, we took one serving size (one gummy) and took notes. Then, we took our targeted dose (multiple Hemp Bombs gummies) and noted the effects. As mentioned, one gummy is not going to knock your socks off – even though they are labeled “max strength.” One of these CBD gummies is a beginner’s dose, in our opinion. With one gummy, there was no noticeable effect to a reviewer that takes CBD on a regular basis. A 15mg dose seems to operate in the background – providing a sense of calm in social situations, but nothing that you’ll consciously feel.
When we took our target dose (multiple gummies), the product delivered. With a higher dose, you’re going to get the body feel that only edibles provide. Generally speaking, that means less of a head effect and a sense of relaxation concentrated in the muscles throughout your arms, legs, and torso. They’re a little bit more delayed than an oil and certainly more delayed than a vape. But, at our target dose, this product delivered exactly the effect we were looking for. The only downfall of having to take four Hemp Bombs CBD gummies at once is the price.
Price (6.0 out of 10)
The price is the main downside of this product. We commend Hemp Bombs CBD for putting CBD into such a delicious, easy-to-take product. That said, at $14.99 for the sample bag, that’s $3 per gummy. If you’re like me and are going to take down 3-4 a day to get to your target dose, that can turn into an incredibly expensive habit. Hemp Bombs does offer discounts as you increase volume. They offer a 60 pack of CBD gummies for $119. You can get the price-per-gummy down to $2 a pop with this approach. But, still a bit expensive at $.13 per-milligram of CBD. The taste and effect are worth the price, but probably as an occasional treat, rather than a daily habit.
